At Eurotrash, we're pleased to exclusively feature European designed, influenced and manufactured clothing lines. A sampling of our lines follow:
Mina UK: A British brand and a worldwide label with a household name. Mina UK's customers include everyone from students to business women. The label is a massive hit with fashionistas, such as Sienna Miller, Kylie Minogue and Kiera Knightly who wear Mina UK when promoting themselves at the height of their popularity.
The immaculate attention to detail and statement prints contrast beautifully with it's relaxed versatility, making Mina UK clothes a great choice for every occasion - whether it be shopping with friends, out to dinner or even a night out on the town.
BANK by Marguerite: Marguerite McAfee, the designer for BANK, relocated to Richmond from Manhattan in 2008. The line's name, BANK, is inspired by Marguerite's primary profession as an investment banker. She designs her jewelry line from her studio in downtown Richmond. Marguerite grew up in England where she aquired some of her inspiration. Studing in Nice and Paris, France also helped to influence her European designs.
Settling as a post-graduate in Manhattan, Marguerite developed an acute sense of urban fashion, which she defines as practical, comfortable and extravagant. BANK is both gritty and opulent, like the cities Marguerite has lived in. BANK can be stacked and layered, or worn simply as the focal point of an outfit. Long, chain earrings embody BANK's signature style. 14K yellow gold-fill and 14K rose gold-fill are the only materials used in creating BANK pieces.
Islay (Eye-La): Jody Carlson-Astrom, the designer, felt a need for comfortable and romantic layering pieces to go under hard to wear designs like sexy, low cut dresses, tops, sweaters and jackets. The line includes both practical basic black strapless bras and camisoles as well as lurex bandeau tops that add a flash of color and shine beneath sheer garments. Jody is a model who has worked for top designers like Christian Lacroix, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Guess, Joie Jeans, Lucky Brand as well as many others. The Fall 2009 Collection is comprised of seamless styles made with both natural fabrications like Bamboo and fabrics which give shape and support such as nylon, spandex and metallic lurex. The name Islay is feminine and one of the designer's favorite names for a woman. Islay is also a beautiful small Scottish Island and as such a celebration of Jody's half Scottish roots!
Jody has been in fashion and retail for her entire career. At a young age, she worked in her home town of Washington, D.C. at Saks Jandel and Frankie Welch before going on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art History from The University of Virginia. At UVA, she studied art and learned to design and build garments for stage in the Theater’s costume shop. After school, she moved to her dream city New York. Her first jobs included buying clothes for Joan Rivers and Mariah Carey at the Barney’s Personal Shopping Office as well as assisting in the Christian Lacroix Showroom for the Bazaar line. This was also her first modeling job in New York as a showroom and fit model. Jody has been modeling for top Fashion Houses since that day and loves it! Her industry experience has inspired her to create an easy, affordable and sexy line of intimate pieces meant to be seen under bra unfriendly garments. Her favorite piece is the asymmetrical lurex top which can be worn on either shoulder (under one shoulder garments) or as a statement under sheer tops. Islay offers a quality line of comfortable seamless pieces that are alternatives to traditional wire bras and sports tops.
